50 year overnight sensation

While still in high school, Lynn Royce Taylor and friend, David Musselman, began singing as a duet they named, the Gospel Chords. From the beginning they sang nearly every weekend somewhere in Ohio, PA, and West Virginia. Three short years later they had grown into a quartet and were traveling nationally for TV, radio, and recordings. The Chords continued for over twelve years.

As members of the group were marrying and having children it became more difficult to continue touring, and by this time Royce had two young boys of his own and a third on the way. So for about 10 years Royce wasn’t singing as his career but worked in industry, business and marketing while raising his young family. The decade of the 80’s were filled with many changes, difficulties, and decisions. No longer engaged in ministry, Royce tried to fulfill the emptiness in his life by focusing on business success.

Then the Vogues from Pittsburgh contacted him to sing tenor for the group. In the 60s the original four members carved a niche in popular music that still sets a unique standard today. Great songs like, “You Are My Special Angel, Turn Around Look at Me, Five O’clock World, You’re The One,” and many more were chart topping favorites. At one point the Vogues songs were #2 behind the Beatles on the BillboardMusic Charts. The music was fun, the fans were great, and the opportunities were many, but the calling of God was stronger. There is nothing more satisfying than answering the call of God. The desire to share the truth of God’s Word and the relevant message of the Bible was always at the forefront of Royce’s life.

2002 whisked Royce to Nashville, TN and back into Gospel Quartet music with the Stamps Quartet, one of the backup quartets for Elvis Presley, the Blackwoods , and the Toney Brothers. The most recent opportunity is joining the Elvis Imperials, the original quartet to back Elvis Presley at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel shows. The Elvis Imperials are actively singing in concerts around the world.

In 2011, Lynn Royce Taylor has appeared with the Colorado Symphony in Denver, Radio City Music Hall in New York City, and 500 year old Cathedrals in Cardiff Wales and Coventry England. When he isn’t touring with the Imperials he is performing his own ministry concerts all across the United States and Canada bringing his life experiences to the stage with stories, humor, singing, and a Biblical perspective.

Without His relationship to Jesus the Christ, the only begotten son of the true and living God, all of his life would be in vain. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and life begins when you submit to God’s word and invite Jesus to be Lord. The Word of God will never fail you in anything you face in life. The Word of God will not only sustain you in the tough times, but it will shield you in future times. It is relative to any time, with answers for all time. God is the same yesterday, today and forever.

It is a new season in Lynn Royce Taylor’s life and ministry. Birthed within was the calling to minister the living Word of God, that began in his youth. God has allowed Royce to take that message around the world as a singer of songs. But now he believes it is time to place the focus on teaching that Word and building the people of God by showing the relevance of the Word of God in the current culture. It’s time to remove the “religion” from Christianity to reveal the relationship between the Creator and His creation. It’s become necessary to teach the origins of our Christian faith from the Bible to reveal why we do what we do, say what we say, are what we are and the importance of that to the whole world. We must discover the authority and power available to all who will align with the way, the truth, and the life.

We do not replace the chosen people of God but we do join with them in the promise found in Isaiah 60:1-3, ARISE [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you--rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and dense darkness [all] peoples, but the Lord shall arise upon you [O Jerusalem], and His glory
shall be seen on you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. AMP

We are to be a light to the nations, a city set on a hill that can not be hidden, salt of the earth, demonstrating the authority that sets us apart from all religions, philosophies, and false gods. 1 Thessalonians 5:5 We are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are
not of the night, nor of darkness. KJV
